11/1/03 - The wildcats season came to a conclussion on saturday when the boys finished 9th at the Schaumburg Sectional. The boys finished with 233 points 56 pts short of qualifying. The boys were lead by Derrick Moy 26th, and Bernard Gajos 33rd .Jose Lopez 61st, Cesar Del Rio 64th, and Julio Perez 67th, Nick Rotizza 94th and Bobby Horcher 125th. We lose many seniors this season. Their contributions will be missed. To the underclassmen the challenge goes out, who is going to step up and contribute to the 2004 Wheeling Cross Country Team. 10/25/03 - Wheeling hosted their 3rd invitational in three weeks. We hosted the IHSA regional. The conditions where great, and the times great too, all 7 runners ran personal bests on our course and their best times of the season. Unfortunately, so did several other teams, Wheeling finished 4th in the regional but advanced to next saturday's Schaumburg sectional. Go to the IHSA site to see complete results. 10/18/03 - Wheeling hosted the MSL Conference meet at Heritage Park this past weekend. Everything went great thanks to the help and support of our parents, alumni and staff. The boys didn't run as well as we had last week against the tougher competition and finished 6th in the conference. Bernard Gajos was our only all conference runner in 21st. Jose Lopez was close in 28th place. We plan on bouncing back stronger next week as we host the Regional meet back at Heritage on Saturday. Hope to see plenty of Wildcat Supporters there!! |
