JOB SEARCH Follow these steps to utilize an on-line classified site to search for a job. The goal is to find a job that matches your current level of education and pays a wage/salary that is closest to your estimated pay needs. 1. Start a new Career Matchmaker Session now take the survey. Pick a career and go to the bottom left to click Scroll down and check the earnings and education level to see if it matches your lifestyles survey. If so print and go back to find 2 more careers that match your earning needs and education level. Now that you have an idea of what career you want lets find a job. 2. Lets use the Chicago Tribune (Click on the words) On left hand side, find: Classified Find a job - (CLICK ON THIS) 3. Under “Advanced Search” Enter job categories according to your results from Career Cruising Select Job categories according to results from career cruising Leave Keywords blank Jobs posted within: Last 30 Days Enter a city: Chicago Your Degree: High School Select a state: Illinois Employment Type: Full-Time Check the box to exclude national and regional jobs Salary Range: list your minimum according to lifestyle. Check the box to exclude careers not including salary info. 4. Click “Search” Compare your job findings with the estimated amount you need to earn to maintain your chosen lifestyle. 5.
